We were honored to participate in the 1st School on Participatory Democracy in Greece: “Engage Citizens in Decision-Making!”, held in Athens.
This event was a collaborative effort by the Council of Europe, the Andreas Papandreou Foundation, Symbiosis – Council of Europe School of Political Studies in Greece, the Hellenic Adult Education Association, and the Symi Network.
The training program brought together public officials and civil society organization workers, aiming to strengthen participatory democracy and foster active citizen engagement in decision-making processes.
The event was graced by the presence and speeches of former Prime Minister George Papandreou and the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, who emphasized the importance of participatory governance.
DEMOTRUST was represented by our organization’s Scientific Director, Alexandros Poulakis, who actively contributed to the discussions and exchange of ideas. As an organization, we warmly welcome such initiatives that seek to enhance democratic practices and citizen participation.
